What makes you feel empowered in your identity?

Alex: Being a queer business owner and knowing I get to celebrate and prioritize queer people, their love and their joy as my job.

Brittany: Being a source of light and joy, by being visible and allowing others to see its okay to be happy just to be with being who you are.

What does your 2SLGBTQ+ identity mean to you?

Alex: It is joy, it is freedom, it is getting to show up authentically as my whole self.

Brittany: It's a sense of feeling fulfilled and complete like I'm finally getting to live as the person I always wanted to get to be.

What is one (or more) of your favorite things about yourself?

Alex: My love and compassion for other people as well as my resiliency and determination.

Brittany: My compassion and curiosity.

What is your favorite part about the 2SLGBTQ+ community in Oklahoma? What would you like to see more of?

I love how we continually show up for each other in whatever way we can. I love seeing how loudly we cheer each other on and watching us create welcoming spaces to be ourselves. Brittany: I love that this was and is the community that allowed me to both come out into the fullness of my identity and that I get to continue to grow with the Oklahoma 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
