Amanda + KaLeah
What does your 2SLGBTQ+ identity mean to you?
A: I am what is considered a 'late bloomer.' I didn't come out as Queer until my late 30's. And so, I've been on a journey of sorts figuring out my 2SLGBTQIA+ indentity. And what I've found is that being Queer is being me. It means living my authentic life - finally. My identity brings me joy and it brings me love and it makes me feel whole.
K: A sense of relatability and community/family.
What makes you feel empowered in your identity?
A: The community I get to be in as a 2SLGBTQIA+ person. We are like this club that you can be scared with, or laugh with, or cry with. People with common experiences. Knowing you're not alone.
K: Self love & acceptance.
What is one (or more) of your favorite things about yourself?
A: I'm passionate and loud about the things I believe in. I will speak up, even when my voice shakes.
K: Queer!
What is your favorite part about the 2SLGBTQ+ community in Oklahoma? What would you like to see more of?
A: It's full of some extremely rad people doing amazing work for the betterment of our community.
K: I’m a newbie. More lesbian (but inclusive) based events.
